Proforma Expands Fire Training to West Coast
HOUSTON, TX — April 21, 2006 — Proforma Safety International, (Proforma PSI LLC) located in Kingwood, Texas, has expanded its Fire Training Division into Oregon, Washington and Northern California. The division will offer fire training through its Mobile Fire Training Unit (MFTU) that while based in Redmond, Oregon, will be able to travel to training sites within the region.
The MFTU is a self contained, on-site fire training academy that can train emergency fire and rescue teams, fire department firefighters, facility personnel and even office staff in how to handle and extinguish any size fire. From a small trash can fire to an oil well blowout fire, the MFTU has the capability of providing hands-on fire training to both the experienced and the first responder fire fighter.
Using clean-burning and environmentally safe propane as fuel, the MFTU can be set up at any location, on any surface and in any environment to provide safe, effective and economical fire training at a fraction of the cost of attending a remotely located fire fighting academy.
Originally designed for on site oil field, petrochemical and industrial fire training, the MFTU has trained more than 9,000 fire team personnel and emergency fire responders. Contained in one trailer, the MFTU carries its own props, propane tank, fire control pans, piping, hoses and nozzles. It incorporates an exclusive remote ignition system which provides the instructor/operator safe and complete control over fire pan flare-off, fire size and instant stop.
Jason Arnold will head Proforma’s West Coast Mobil Fire Training Division. Arnold is an experienced fire fighter with six years of fire service. He also is a nationally certified paramedic, a PSI site safety consultant and a qualified hazardous material technician.
