Proforma Helps with BP LNG Project at Crown Landing
Proforma Safety has been involved in providing safety-related services for several of BP’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects that are in various stages of development. One example is the Crown landing project near Logan New Jersey, which upon completion will supply enough gas to address the daily needs of about five million homes.
PSI provides all of the on-site safety and HSE assurance for the pre-construction activities such as the geological surveys, bore test, water sampling test, agrological surveys, surface weight support test, etc. On several occasions the Proforma Safety Representative has also served as the BP PIC (Person In Charge) coordinating all site operations under direction from the Global LNG Team located in Houston.
So far the project has a total of over 250,000 man hours worked without a single OSHA recordable incident, first aid case, day-away-from-work case, vehicle accident or any equipment damage. The PSI Site safety consultants, Mike Arnold and Billy Carroll also served as site medics, the Emergency Services coordinators, logistics coordinators and BP’s CAR (Company Authorized Representative) to the many contractors participating in the Crown landing pre-construction phase.
